It's pretty obvious that practically nobody gives a damn about Monkeypox except for these guys which is the reason so many are calling it Money Pox. They are trying to gin up the fear like they did with Covid. The people who are still afraid of Covid aren't paying attention to this because they are still focused on Covid. And everybody else just thinks this is a sexually transmitted disease that doesn't kill people anyhow. And nobody's got any interest in Pandemic 2.0 when they can't even afford to buy gas and food.

I almost hurt myself laughing thinking about the WHO as a prestigious authority. wanna be in a position of global authority, famous for their ridiculous misinformation.
those upstarts copying the logo and initials can have every single infinitesimal fraction of a nanogram of respect I have developed for the WHO if they want it... whatever is left of that immeasurably small amount of trust that I had for the WHO before they trashed their better researched pandemic policy advice in 2020 onwards.

I remember early on in the pandemic listening to a podcast featuring Nassim Taleb as guest (a man I believed intelligent at the time) and being absolutely shocked and dismayed by his Chicken Little response; he completely suspended his critical thinking and jumped on the hysteria bandwagon. After that podcast, I threw away two of his books that I had read and enjoyed, and dismissed him entirely as an intellectual charlatan. Good riddance.
Yesterday I briefly saw a headline where it claimed that the WHO will meet to declare bungabungapox jamboree. I did not know it was World Ding Ding who did it!
I will always remember our Aussie Zoe Hyde for approving anal probes of babies.....
I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I read about the antics of Ding and his cohort. Part of me thinks that Ding and the anal swab lady must surely be parody Twitter accounts. But the other side of my brain recognizes that they are likely real, and either deranged or in it for the money (or both). And worse, they have people who follow them, not for the comedy appeal but for actual direction/advice. It's a crazy world.
