One more thing. At the beginning where you mention how Western Elites were funding the Nazis. I guarantee you that MOST people don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Most people consider those facts to be conspiracy theories. Obviously they are not, it's well documented, but many people STILL don't know these facts!

China is in a much better position than Germany was, because they have far more influence on the Western nations than Germany ever had. China learned from the mistakes of the world's previous totalitarian states, and have perfected the processes of evil and oppression.

And as you pointed out. It's all at the hands of Western Elites.

One pundit put it very well, I can't remember who it was, but they said something to the effect of, "The only reason that communism appears to 'work' in China, is because the United States is propping it up! Left alone, it would fail, like any other communist state."

People need to pull their heads out of the sand. It is probably is too late. Amazing how people on top

don't realize they are being played.

Thank you for your exhaustive research, writing, and all your work.

This is a very clear and persuasive article. As you acknowledge at the beginning, trying to wrap one’s head around geopolitical issues with our tainted information sources is hard and at times I admit that I’ve underestimated the influence and danger that the current China regime presents to the West. However, it appears that the comparison to Nazi Germany appeasement seems apt.

This is a brilliant piece! I'm going to put out the word, as best I can, because this is absolutely what's going on.

Michael, if you haven't yet red it. Check out "Will The Middle East Go West." It's written by Freda Utley. All of her books are free online.

She's been all over the world and was an adviser to many US presidents. VERY insightful.

Thank you for this. There is a reason I call our "president" Xiden. He's wholly owned, & iirc, there was evidence found of China hacking our 2020 election.

The video of the drone exhorting Chinese subjects to "control their soul's desire for freedom" if they stepped out onto terraces or stuck their heads outside windows was sickening ....

The good news is China is in big trouble economically. The bad news is China is in big trouble economically.

Decoupling sounds sensible to me.

Wow - great post! Scorching, take no prisoners, explanations of how we got here. To see these connections laid out in such form confirms the observations many citizens have made. China has become the darling of those who would rule as tyrannical, technocratic, corporatists. Seems the only recourse in other nations, especially America, is to take a firm stand with the legacy left to us by our ancestors. The principles and scaffolding left to us by our revolutionary ancestors is a strong enough foundation to use to rebuild our republic. It will require that we as citizens take back the unalienable rights endowed by the creator and use them with a high degree of skepticism and oversight to re-establish our nation.

I couldn't agree more. Opening trade with China will go down as a huge mistake. We didn't engage with the Warsaw Pact because of the fear of corrupting influence and the desire to not make the leaders of an incompatible system wealthy despite the flaws of their centrally controlled economy.

The idea that we could positively influence Chinese communism through trade should have been put to rest long ago and certainly so after Xi began his purges of political rivals more than 15 years ago.

Instead, we've seen our Western elites experience oppression envy, whereby they fret and worry that they can't be dictators or bemoan that our petty, racist constitution holds them back from a radical restructuring of society in which they survey the new insect consuming life of the peons from their private jets.

I've long thought that to Western elites, Trump's truly unpardonable sin was engaging in even modest trade restrictions with China. It wasn't as if his campaign to drain the swamp was effective enough to be a real threat to the entrenched interests, but the initiation of trade restrictions might serve as a way of easing us out of our entanglements with China. That just could not be allowed.

As you say, the influence of China seems to penetrate the highest levels of our government, much like the Soviet Union was able to penetrate the highest levels of intelligence services with double agents. The problem is that the Washington DC professional bureaucratic class has virtually no common interests with the average American citizen. They suffer little from the problems that their policies unleash on the people (for example see the panic induced by shipping immigrants to DC). Naturally, the Washington bureaucratic class allies itself with the wealthy and powerful and their promises of greater and greater central control.

So, to me, the question is not so much how to directly oppose China or how to stop the idiocy of our elites, but how to break the iron grasp that elite interest has on the professional bureaucrat and political class of both parties. That is a question that is extremely dire and pressing as the political class is aggressively exploring how to void the will of the populace as expressed through elections. Once that project is complete, the options for reform become very few.

"Talk to honest academics about totalitarianism and deteriorating political conditions in China, and among their chief concerns is the CCP’s unprecedented level of influence over western elites"

The Chinese constantly brag about this, that is the level of the problem.

And yes, OGRE is correct, without our 750 Billion plus yearly, the CCP would be like last Thursday's potato salad. Kinda shows you why they teamed up with the Democratic Socialists to launch a long planned attack (bio, economic, law fare) on America & the Trump administration.

The Democrat Socialists would rather lose to China, than Trump.

Kinda like "Fentanyl Mitch" would rather lose to the Democrats, than to the TEA Party.

It is all engineered, "The Big Show" so to speak.

I really think it is all a Global Intel Agency Conspiracy created by World Communism resulting from US Intel failures stemming from the early 50s and even worse since.

This is one of the most compelling and infuriating articles I've read in a long time.

I think one of the reasons why most people refuse to face the truth about how China bought off our entire elite class (political, business, academic and finance elites) is because it points to an obvious if disturbing conclusion: the supposed leaders of our country (from both sides of the aisle) have zero loyalty to America, its people or institutions, its history and traditions, its past present or future.

Since the end of the Cold War, we have watched America and its resources (esp our middle class and its wages and pensions) get stripped away by Wall Street with the money siphoned off to various globalist funds and banks and the oligarchs who own them.

Almost everything else outside of this purposeful destruction of what was until very recently a stable, prosperous middle-class country is just a Culture War "Let them Eat Hate!" distraction.

Thanks for the really excellent piece, now I'm going out to the garage to polish and sharpen the blade on my guillotine...

"...they’ve been treating the virus as a pandemic-level supervirus for purposes of their domestic emergency powers, while treating it as an ordinary virus for purposes of their relations with China."

This is a damning critique of America's worthless "leadership"

There’s so much to say here. I do believe we are heading toward war with China. I’ve read that Joe Kennedy had to be reigned in by Roosevelt for his cheerleading across Europe about the glories of the Nazis. I also heard the Prescott Bush was involved with them somehow. As to the Chinese when I was at UW Madison in the late 90’s and the Clinton’s’ good friend Donna Shalala was chancellor there was a concerted effort to get Chinese into STEM labs and it was an open secret that they were stealing research. I was told the FBI was alerted but nothing happened. Now it so happens that Clinton in was allowing Pablo Escobar to fly drugs to Mena Arkansas when he was governor and AG. Now for the past 15+ years the Chinese have been running opioids into the US using Mexican drug cartels being protected by open border Democrat policies resulting in at least 60k deaths/yr of mostly military age Americans. An opium war on US if there ever was one. To come full circle on Democrats making millions running drugs into the US, Joe Kennedy made millions running Canadian booze into WI with Al Capone to his “Hideout” which I once visited with a very old wealthy Jewish man from Chicago for whom I used to caretake his house in N. WI in the summer.

Follow the $$ and family ties of these elites and they all lead to China, Ukraine, Soros, WEF...Pelosi, Biden, Obama, Romney, McConnell and the list goes on & on. These evil people sold their soles for their lust of greed and power, but in the end, they too will leave this earth with nothing.

CCP is way more dangerous than Russia! I get the impression Putin is trying to defend Russia from the Globalist resource extraction carnage.

The technocrats like Eric Schmidt would LOVE everyone to have a microchip and be on the CCP social credit system. Patrick Wood of Technocracy Now does a great job going through that history.

WEF started with Kissinger, who was instrumental in "change through trade" which gave the rise of the Globalists. His new acolyte is Eric Schmidt, a technocrat, who would love to get everyone chipped, tracked and controlled.

Here's what became of Nazi war criminals. I was shocked and dismayed to discover only 17 people were punished in the Nuremberg trials. Look up Operation Paperclip.

Werner von Braun - head of NASA

Walter Hallstein - head of EU commission

Adolf Heusinger - NATO chief of staff

Kurt Waldheim - SecretaryGneral of UN

There's another rhetorical trick used by the American elites to defend the CCP: if you are an American who criticizes China, you're racist.

I don't think this sort of tactic was used by American elites back in the 1920s and 30s. I mean, were there any American elite capital investors defending the Nazis by claiming that American critics were somehow racist against Germans?

On the contrary, it seems that a significant proportion of 1930's America was seriously antisemitic and eagerly turned a blind eye to Nazi crimes against humanity. In the case of current day China, America simply lacks any anti-Uighur bias. Americans don't know anything about Uighurs. We barely even know that Uighurs exist.
